About Francisco
Francisco Uceda is a Bronx-based visual artist residing in Riverdale. Trained as a photographer with a background in Anthropology, Linguistics and Education, his recent work explores the boundaries between image, text, and material intervention through collage and mixed media. His practice engages with intertextuality, myth, and the poetics of visual fragmentation, often challenging conventional narratives and archetypes rooted in the Western imagination. He is the author and co-editor of several photo books, including La desolación del náufrago, Fulgores Vanos, Night and Day, and A todo lo que pase, y se borre y se pierda. Uceda has received multiple national and international awards, exhibited widely in Europe and the United States, and works as an artist and educator in New York City.
